Computer Systems Genome Research Project

Virginia Tech  |  August 2021 - Ongoing (10 hours / week)

Recently appointed as Styling Czar for the project, tasked with unifying the front-end's styling components and transforming "quick fixes" into generalized solutions that will make styling more accessible during onboarding for new front-end team members.

Led development of our manufacturer information page at  www.csgenome.org/manufacturers during which time I was trained in JavaScript, React, Python, and the D3 and Material UI libraries and worked with the front-end and back-end teams to integrate the API into our webpage functionality.

Check out my various presentations summarizing my work throughout my semesters working on the project!

Dean's Early Research Initiative

Virginia Commonwealth University | July 2019 - May 2020 (4-15 Hours / Week)

Conducted research on the effects of roughness/hydrophilicity of titanium oral implants on immune cell response and inflammation to ultimately minimize the duration/difficulty of the healing process for oral surgery patients.

This research project was especially important to me because one year prior to joining this project I actually underwent double-jaw surgery in which these exact types of titanium oral implants were used. I greatly appreciate being given the opportunity to help mitigate the grueling healing process surgeries like my own entail for others.

Check out my poster summarizing my work below!
