I'm a Software Engineer at CoStar Group with a background in Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction from Virginia Tech.
I'm passionate about creating thoughtful, user-centered digital experiences.
I combine a love for design and creative problem-solving with solid engineering fundamentals to break down complex challenges into accessible, impactful solutions.
B.S., Computer Science, Minor in Human-Computer Interaction
Virginia Tech | Graduated May 2024 | GPA: 3.8
Valedictorian, Cosby High School | Class Rank #1 of 508
Software Engineer I
CoStar Group | Jul 2025 - Present
Led front-end development for a ground-up rebuild of Advanced Search on the WebEnterprise CRM platform, redesigning search workflows for company, property, and contact entities used by 3,500+ researchers, salespeople, and customer service users
Surfaced analytics showing 80% of users bounced from the previous Advanced Search within 3 seconds, built a presentation on the findings, and partnered with product to shape the case for a rebuild. In UAT, bounce rate dropped to 0% and successful searches followed by result interaction rose from 40% to 90%
Designed and implemented a registry-driven architecture where each searchable entity defines its filters, query types, and display mappings against a shared schema, enabling new entities to plug in with full UI and query support as soon as their registry is defined
Built an analytics instrumentation layer into the registry architecture using a reducer-dispatch interception pattern, so every new filter action automatically requires and routes to a Google Analytics handler
Replaced lat/long range queries with OpenSearch geospatial queries using geopoints for the Advanced Search map, improving map performance and reducing pressure on the OpenSearch cluster
Built an SVG cache circuit breaker for the shared container microfrontend that retrieves fresh assets from Artifactory on package upgrades using a stale-while-revalidate strategy with exponential backoff, reducing container PRs by ~15% and maintaining full icon availability during a 3-day Artifactory outage
Initiated and led a CRM-wide font migration from Helvetica to Outfit (open-source, web-optimized), collaborating across design leadership and engineering, writing comprehensive migration docs, generating repo audit reports, and presenting weekly in CRM MicroFrontend Tech Committee meetings
Managed own stories and sprint commitments, synced regularly with product and design on feature scoping and prioritization, mentored a junior developer through PR review and pairing, and reviewed backend pull requests
Contributed front-end work on Smart Search, an early-stage natural-language filter assistant for Advanced Search
Extended the contact role grid to support search by contact ID and name, updating the C#/.NET endpoint to accept new query criteria and coordinating with backend on aggregation logic to preserve accurate role counts while filtering results
Associate Software Engineer
CoStar Group | Jul 2024 - Jul 2025
Set the technical foundation and reusable component architecture for Move-In Ready and Community/Collection support in the New Homes initiative, creating a new microfrontend for CRM researchers
Improved a 10,000-record export feature's performance, reducing Excel generation time to 1-5 seconds and solving a long-standing timeout issue for large table exports across WebEnterprise. The implementation has since been reused by other teams
Built an executive dashboard for displaying and interacting with 3D Matterport scan data for C-suite stakeholders

Computer Systems Genome Research Project | Design Lead
Virginia Tech | August 2021 - May 2024 (10 hours / week)
As Design Lead for the project, I was tasked with unifying the front-end's styling components and transforming "quick fixes" into generalized solutions that made styling more accessible during onboarding for new front-end team members.
I mentored incoming students interested in front-end development and helped plan out the designs for new pages related to the Hidden Figures project, highlighting the accomplishments of overlooked contributors to high performance computing.
My most recent work consisted of a complete styling redesign and mobile-friendly redesign of the website's landing page at www.csgenome.org and the implementation of a design system to provide a consolidated resource for students to reference and promote consistency in both the design and development of the website.
I previously led the development of the manufacturer information page at www.csgenome.org/discover/manufacturers during which time I was trained in JavaScript, React, Python, and the D3 and Material UI libraries and worked with the front-end and back-end teams to integrate the API into the webpage functionality.
Dean's Early Research Initiative
Virginia Commonwealth University | July 2019 - May 2020 (4-15 Hours / Week)
Conducted research on the effects of roughness/hydrophilicity of titanium oral implants on immune cell response and inflammation to ultimately minimize the duration/difficulty of the healing process for oral surgery patients.
This research project was especially important to me because one year prior to joining this project I actually underwent double-jaw surgery in which these exact types of titanium oral implants were used. I greatly appreciate being given the opportunity to help mitigate the grueling healing process surgeries like my own entail for others.
